FREIGHT PROCUREMENT:



  • Define the best strategy in Freight Procurement, according to Company’s goals.

  • Supervision on correct mix Spot Market / Digital Freight / Contract rates

  • Contract rates: Tender for Contract Rates, preparation of RFQ, compiling offers, selection of appointed Forwarder/Carrier, preparation of Service Contract draft

  • Spot Market: RFQ, negotiation and selection of best Forwarder for each lane. Weekly analyses of Freight indices, market trend vs internal costs

  • Supervision on effective implementation of Company SOP with Freight Forwarders

  • Get regular access of market intelligence, with special focus on Freight rates, new Freight procurement strategies and new Shipping solutions

  • Regular Meetings with new Forwarders/Carriers with the goal of activating new partnerships, when needed


    • FREIGHT OPERATIONS:



  • Trade Compliance: ensure that all shipping procedures meet company policies and government regulations

  • Monitor that best shipping solutions are adopted for every Order

  • Supervision and support to planners for booking procedures

  • FOB Local charges: clear understanding of market costs for local charges

  • Reduction of fixed costs per shipment

  • Reduction of Demurrage and Detention costs (DDP shipments)

  • Supervision on Freight Invoices Auditing

  • Escalation point for any serious problem encountered with Freight Forwarders / Carriers


    • FREIGHT REPORTING & KPI



  • Control budget of the shipping department

  • Prepare financial and administrative reports to share with upper management

  • Develop and monitor KPI to regularly check Freight performances
