Job Title: Postdoc Research Fellow in EEG signal analysis and explainable AI

We are seeking a highly motivated and skilled Postdoc Research Fellow to join our multi-disciplinary team working on a project aimed at early identification and treatment of children with autism spectrum disorder (ASD) and potentially with other developmental disorders. The successful candidate will have a strong background in EEG signal analysis and explainable AI, and will work closely with our team of experts in medicine, psychology, advanced sensing and computing, and artificial intelligence domains.

Responsibilities:

  • Develop and implement signal processing and machine learning methodology for the analysis of EEG signals and other multimodal data from our neurophysiology-behavioral assessment device.
  • Build computational models for the distinctive processes of neurophysiology-behavioral activities under various stimuli and task conditions.
  • Develop a model-agnostic method for interpreting black box models and explaining individual predictions.
  • Collaborate with the team to explore the utility of these models for ASD assessment/intervention.

Requirements:

  • PhD in computer science, electrical engineering, or a related field with a strong focus on AI and signal processing.
  • Strong experience in analyzing EEG signals and building machine learning models for neurophysiology-behavioral activities.
  • Expertise in explainable AI, including feature importance and local interpretability methods such as Shapley values and LIME.
  • Strong programming skills in Python and experience with relevant AI and signal processing libraries.
  • Ability to work independently as well as in a team.
  • This is a full-time, in-campus position, and offers a competitive salary and benefits package. The successful candidate will have the opportunity to work on a cutting-edge project aimed at improving the lives of children with ASD and potentially with other developmental disorders. If you are passionate about AI and neuroscience, and want to make a difference in the world through design, please send your CV and cover letter to Assistant Professor CHEONG Kang Hao **************@sutd.edu.sg.

Only shortlisted candidates will be contacted.
