R&D Application Engineer (Additive Manufacturing)

Key Responsibilities

• Lead metal AM application and parts development projects including parts selection, design, prototyping and manufacturing
• Provide technical support for internal and external customers in Design for Additive Manufacturing (DFAM)
• Operation of metal AM machines and auxiliary equipment, including maintenance troubleshooting, and risk assessment
• Documentation of technical data, development of SOPs and best practices for AM equipment and processes
• Assist in material and part testing such as sample preparation, material characterization, powder metallurgy, part inspection and measurements
• Tracking and management of inventory system for AM parts, materials, tools and other laboratory consumables
• Upkeep safety requirements and ISO documentations in compliance to Health, Safety & Environment management systems

Job Requirements

• Bachelor’s Degree in Engineering, Mechanical/Materials or equivalent
• 2-3 years of working experience with DFAM, support structure design, operation of Laser Powder Bed Fusion machines and post-processing i.e. powder/support/part removal, heat treatment, etc.
• Proficient in 3D modelling and 2D drawing using Solidworks
• Proficient in AM data preparation software i.e. Materialize Magics
• Familiar with metal AM process chain
• Experience with parameters development, material characterization, or process simulation will be a big advantage
• Keen on hands-on work
• Fast learner and agile, able to adapt to dynamic work environment
• Able to work independently and self-motivated
• Singaporeans or PRs only.
