Job content

• Manage and produce stories/ news to present information with accuracy, adherence to style and editorial policy and within time frame.
• Manage the day-to-day workflow (plan, edit, proofread, layout, maintain news archives) of a small team of writer/ reporter volunteers.
• Collaborates with other team members (ie. photographer, videographer, producer, digital content creator) to produce high quality stories/ features.
• Write interview-based articles, photo taking when necessary.
• Develop strategies and creative ideas to widen readership base.
• Provide content support to meet multiplatform needs.
• Assist to build an effective volunteer training program.
  

• Strong editorial background and proofreading skills.
• Experience adhering to editorial and technical style guides.
• Team player and able to meet deadlines, some weekend work may be required.
• Proficient in using MS Office and Adobe Photoshop.
• Have interest in humanitarian work, social services and eco sustainability issues.
• Bachelor’s degree in Mass Communication, Journalism, Media, Chinese Studies or related field.
• At least two years working experience in writing, editing and reporting.
