We are currently seeking a Manager to join and lead our Data, Evidence and Insights Team, with experience in working with global health policy research institutes and use of data analytics or visualisation tools. The Manager will be responsible for developing strategies, plans and structured approaches to managing data, evidence to develop strategic insights supporting evidence-based policy development in malaria elimination efforts in the Asia Pacific. The Manager will report to the Executive Vice President for Strategy.


  • Be accountable for the ongoing update and use of APLMA’s Leaders Dashboard including routine data refresh by working closely with national programs and implementing partners to reflect the most current and up to date understanding of malaria epidemiology and policies across the region.
  • Work with data analytics and visualisations to generate strategic insights for policy development.
  • Work with colleagues to find creative ways to visualize data in policy, advocacy, and other related materials
  • Monitor ongoing national malaria programme reviews/assessments, operational research projects and malaria epidemiology trends, and surface evidence gaps.
  • Conduct and/or collaborate on primary research/surveys, as appropriate, to deepen insights and implementation science related to ongoing burden data trends, political landscape, policy reforms, innovation, etc.
  • Work with accessible data and programmatic information to generate insights supporting strategic partnerships and collaborations that can help advance APLMA’s goals and objectives.
  • Contribute to the development of policy briefs and other communication materials to support APLMA’s advocacy efforts and present data in novel ways.
  • Build and maintain relationships with key stakeholders in the malaria research community, including academic institutions, research organizations, and implementation partners.
  • Identify and promote the use of innovative data analytics tools and techniques to support APLMA’s policy and advocacy efforts.
  • Manage and mentor team members to ensure their professional growth and development.
  • Provide briefing and technical support to APLMA’s Executive Leadership Team, as necessary.



  • Master’s degree in public policy, health economics or related field.
  • Additional certification relating to health informatics and data analytics will be an advantage.


  • Minimum of 5-8 years of experience in leading evidence generation strategies for health policy development.
  • Experienced in and proven track record of successfully managing research analyst functions in a management consulting firm or global/regional health organisation.
  • Experienced in and with proven ability to work effectively with government officials, civil society organizations, and other stakeholders in Asia Pacific, and to build and maintain strong relationships with key stakeholders.

Knowledge and Skills

  • Strong leadership and project management skills.
  • Ability to work independently and as part of a team; highly adaptive, flexible, and self-starter.
  • Strong technical skills in data analytics, including experience with data visualization tools such as Tableau or Power BI.
  • Excellent communication and interpersonal skills, with the ability to present complex data analytics concepts to a non-technical audience.
  • Strong analytical, research and problem-solving skills, with the ability to analyze complex data sets and draw actionable insights.

  • Demonstrated commitment to improving public health outcomes and preventing the spread of communicable disease threats, particularly in underserved and marginalized populations.
  • Proven ability to work effectively in a multi-cultural and diverse team.
  • Able to travel overseas when required.

The position is a full-time role and will be based in the organization’s headquarters in Singapore. The organization offers a competitive salary and benefits package, commensurate with experience and qualifications. The initial contract will be for a period of 2 years, with the possibility of extension based on performance and availability of funding.
