Responsibilities:

  • Receiving, labelling, preparing samples for fire assay, and using various procedures.
  • Helps set up the lab and create SOPs for fire assay procedures. Maintain records of the supplies and equipment utilized, keep an eye on the analytical processes, and correct the situation as needed.
  • Help keep workspaces clean and troubleshoot equipment and assist with planning and managing overtime, productivity, and turnaround times.
  • Promote workplace safety efforts, make sure samples are disposed of properly, and handle crises as they arise.
  • Assistance with the application and upkeep of any government licenses required for the laboratory.

Requirements:

  • Bachelor’s degree in Chemistry or related studies
  • Work experience for 2 years as a Fire Assayer and can demonstrate understanding in analytical process in Fire Assay.
  • Relevant experience to operate XRF/ICP, processing metals such as platinum, silver, gold, rhodium, palladium is a plus.
