The Maritime and Port Authority of Singapore (MPA) was established on 2 February 1996, with the mission to develop Singapore as a premier global hub port and international maritime centre (IMC), and to advance and safeguard Singapore’s strategic maritime interests.
MPA is the driving force behind Singapore’s port and maritime development, taking on the roles of Port Authority, Port Regulator, Port Planner, IMC Champion, and National Maritime Representative.
MPA partners the industry and other agencies to enhance safety, security and environmental protection in our port waters, facilitate port operations and growth, expand the cluster of maritime ancillary services, and promote maritime R&D and manpower development.
You will be part of the Strategy & Policy Division that tackles increasing competition, anticipates trends and formulates timely policies to maintain and enhance Singapore’s status as a premier global hub port and international maritime centre, as well as advance and safeguard Singapore’s strategic maritime interests. Your job responsibilities will include:
  • Provide finance & administrative support. This includes handling the division’s procurement requirements, processing payment of invoices and taking care of division assets
  • Undertake events management for corporate events organized by the division. This includes vendor management, sourcing of venues, procurement of event-related goods and services, managing internal coordination and overseeing all logistics
  • Support monthly management reporting. This includes extracting data from in-house systems and spreadsheets, compiling and tabulating data for monthly reporting of port statistics, as well as liaising with industry contacts for data requirements
  • Support information management. This includes managing the physical and digital filings of records and information
  • Manage Division’s calendar to facilitate planning for cross-divisional meetings and corporate events
  • Where required, provide additional support such as managing Director’s schedule, arranging meetings, filing of documents, assisting with digitisation projects, and any other administrative duties as assigned
Qualification and Experience
  • Candidates with preferably at least 2 years of relevant working experience, including that in procurement and organising corporate events, are welcome to apply.
  • Able to work independently as well as in a team
  • Meticulous, eye for detail
  • Good interpersonal and communication skills
  • Good time management skills and able to work well under pressure
  • Proficient with Microsoft Office applications, such as Excel, Word and PowerPoint
