Marine Hull Underwriting Executive

• Maintain and develop a portfolio of marine accounts that contributes towards achieving budgeted gross written premium, underwriting results and/or business targets.
• Review submissions from all distribution channels including applications, policy and clause wordings, loss ratio and financial reports while conducting appropriate research to determine degree of risk.
• Underwrite and calculate appropriate risk premium by considering the risk costs inherent to the marine sector along with the marine market situation in accordance to the company guideline within the framework of underwriting authority.
• Arrange facultative reinsurance for risk management, with approved securities within approved cession limits and contract certainty guidelines.
• Conduct due diligence checks to ensure compliance with the company’s requirement and all other relevant statutory regulations and guidelines.
• Support the business planning and forecasting process; monitor premium income and collaborate with finance / credit control team on premium collection in a timely manner
• Monthly reporting to Head of Department on activities, performance of portfolio, hit ratios and production targets.
• Maintain and develop businesses with all distribution channels, constantly updated with risk appetite and explore areas of growth within the marine industry.
