Environment, Health, Safety & Security Manager (Based on Tuas)

• Manage, develop, administer and implement programs designed to reduce risks and minimize losses associate with employee safety, industrial hygiene, fire protection, environment issues and occupational health.
• Ensure compliance with all Corporate, Division, local regulations pertaining to Environmental, Health, Safety and Security.

Responsibilities:

• Provide overall leadership, direction and co-ordination to the organization, maintaining EHS & Security focus, ensuring best practices are in place and building a strong Business Excellence culture.
• Monitor actual vs. planned financial performance for the Abbott Manufacturing Singapore and ensure appropriate action is taken as needed to meet Plant objectives.
• Maintain the highest standards of safety, security, quality, customer service and environmental control ensuring compliance with all Abbott policies and procedures and meeting all local statutory requirements.
• Develop and implement strategies and programs to meet current plant objectives and to meet future requirements ensuring achievement of the plant start-up learning curve.
• Interface with Division & Corporate Management, particularly in the areas of EHS Excellence and Security, and participate as a supportive member of the ANSC management team.
• Maintain a positive working environment through effective communication and respect for all employees.
• Develop employees and increase the skills and education base to meet changing demands and customer needs, through mentoring, coaching, teamwork, training and development, growth and succession planning.
• Implement the Performance Excellence program and ensure employees fully embrace Abbott’s Core Values and Promise for Life values.
• Maintain the highest standards of cafeteria, fitness center and medical center operations and ensuring compliance with applicable Abbott policies and procedures and meeting local statutory requirements.
• Focus point for Division, Corporate and Peers from other Abbott plants on EHS, Energy & Security matters.
• Any other duties as directed by supervisor.

Requirements:

• Bachelors or Master Degree in Occupational Health and Safety, Environmental Science, Engineering or equivalent.
• At least 10 years of professional experience in an EHS manager role in a large-scale manufacturing operation.
• Ability to communicate clearly with employees at all levels and to articulate goals with respect to safety and the environment.
• Ability to work effectively with plant wide teams to motivate and develop strong safety and environmental awareness in all employees.
• Certified Fire Safety Manager preferred
• MOM certified workplace health and safety officer preferred
