DUTIES & RESPONSIBILITIES

1. Act as the secretary of AKSS fire & safety committee and to perform the roles & responsibilities stipulated under Workplace Safety & Health Committee regulations and fire safety committee regulated by SCDF

2. Act as Covid-19 safe management officer (SMO) to ensure compliance to related MOH covid-19 and MOM safe management measures (SMS) requirements

3. Assist EHS manager for continual improvement of occupational safety & health programs and practices & EHS management system (ISO45001, ISO14001 & SS651) to achieve zero accident, occupational heath diseases and compliance with related EHS legal requirements

4. Support ASDM leader and responsible for continual improvement in safety for annual shutdown maintenance (ASDM) for safe and successful AKSS ASDM

5. Responsible for site safety inspection and permit to work audit program.

6. Key contributor to occupational safety & health risk assessment activities and permit to work system

7. Work closely with maintenance, production and in-house contractors for continual improvement of in-house contractor EHS management & performance

8. Responsible for the readiness of company emergency response team (CERT) in responding to emergency situations through regular training & drills and maintaining good condition of emergency response equipment

9. Conduct incident investigation and analysis to identify the root causes and establish learning from the incident to prevent re-occurrence.

10. Responsible for EHS training (mandatory and non-mandatory) and new hire orientation for staffs and safety induction courses & hazard recognition for contractors

11. Responsible for annual industrial hygiene monitoring and medical surveillance programs

12. Establish and maintain PPE matrix and PPE specification

13. Responsible for site pest control management

14. Assist EHS manager in site security management

15. Participate and contribute in various EHS activities organized by EHS or other dept e.g. JCC

Requirements

· Registered workplace safety & health officer with MOM and fire safety manager with SCDF with at least 3 years’ experience in refinery, chemical or process plant industry

· Experience in contractor safety management and plant shutdown for maintenance

· Familiar with ISO14001, ISO45001 and SS651 management system

· Good communication & writing skill and able to facilitate EHS training and event with confident

· Ethical, proactive, mature and able to make prompt and critical decisions. Having great initiatives, rational judgments and able to work independently under minimum supervision

· A good team player

· Able to commit to work outside normal working hour e.g. in the event of accident, emergency and during annual shutdown maintenance (ASDM) period.
